To Be Honest, I've Never Been Into Ongaku Gatas, But...

Oh man, when I first saw the title I was really excited for a second "no way, no way, it can't be!"... and indeed, it wasn't what I thought it was. :( Tsunku's already made a Beatles cover album, he should make everyone in Hello! Project make one too. I'd love to hear some Beatles renditions done by these girls!
Nocchi! Nocchi! Nocchi!! Well you probably already know that I'm obsessed...I mean I adore her! :P Ah I can't believe that you didn't find "Narihajimeta koi no bell" a memorable song....with that boogie down beat and Manoeri's irresistible sighs. :) But this is a really different approach for them and why not re-invent themselves as their lineup is also so changed too. If it had been Lennon/McCartney that would've been great too!!! And Tsunku really has shown his ability in the past to pen quite a few Beatles inspired songs!!! Some of my favorites coming from Tanpopo. ^-^
There's an idea for a post...what would be a good Beatle song for H!P to cover? I don't know about Come Together, but I bet we could think of a few good ones! Maybe your "Bitch Group" could do Come Together!
MB, it's a wierd thing with me and O.G. I like the girls in the group, but the songs haven't really "floated my boat". I thought both songs were ok at first, but I never felt compelled to watch the PV's repeatedly, or buy the singles. And I have probably watched this PV at least 20 times already despite the fact that Nocchi (my favorite) doesn't get a lot of closeups in it. It is so sexy that she is 20 and still looks that cute!!! I will have to listen to "All of Tanpopo" again (the only Tanpopo CD I have) to hear the Beatles inspiration. They were a great spin off group!
I was really hoping that Nocchi would become a more central member in OG after Manoeri left and she's such the ball of energy in this group when you watch their special features! Nocchi is always personable, cheerful, and genki but in a most sincere manner. Wow 20 times already?!!! Ahh my favorite Beatles inspired Tanpopo song would probably have to be either "Otome pasta ni kandou", "I & YOU & I & YOU & I" or ....haha I better stop! :P

Speaking of this Come Together by the way, while it doesn't really remind me of the Beatles song of the same name, it does remind me of two other Beatles tunes quite a bit... in fact I think I'll make a post about this. Can you guess the tunes? :)

I was just talking about the Bitch Unit earlier with wu-san and I came to the conclusion that if I was to attend the show, the setlist would have to be damn near flawless, and so it would have to not only include like every H!P track I want to hear, but also the whole Abbey Road album performed in its entirety. That's when I'd have to really start considering attending!

Realistically, I could see H!P covering a song like All You Need Is Love, something with the whole love thing prominent in it as that's usually the theme with the lyrics. I don't really see them covering something as trippy as Strawberry Fields Forever, hehe.

OG was originally pieced together as a gathering place for Hello! Project performers who had either never gotten their shot (i.e. some Eggs in their early 20s whose day might have never come otherwise), combined with great talents like Yossie, Konno and Rika who still have plenty of juice remaining even after brilliant careers that have gone on for years. The "elders" can bring on the greenhorns, and that sounds great ... But, that means the new unit might be slow to develop a character or niche of its own. That comes with time, Trimming back from 10 to eight members might be an asset, and the new single sounds like OG's best effort so far. Give 'em a chance!
