I've given this a little thought. And Morning Berryz was a great help in me coming to this decision. I named this blog after Hello! Project because they were my first true J-pop love. And even if I do prefer AKB48 these days, this has always been a place where I feel free to review stuff from throughout the J-music universe. I re-watched the Hello Project Winter 2008 concert that I attended. And it reminded me of how much I love Morning Musume, Ayaya and the gang. So the name stays...for now
Onto AKB48's New PV...
I really like this song. I wouldn't put in my list of all time AKB48 favorites, but I think it is pretty cool nonetheless. I have always liked Maeda Atsuko, even if she isn't one of my favorite members. But she is always great in the PV's. She is so cute here, and she really CAN act! She showed us a great sexy side in Baby Baby Baby, and her sadness and anger here are totally believable.
The video itself is really creative. From the acting scenes, to the location photography, to my favorite moment when they haphazardly run onstage to begin the song. It is all very cute. On a smaller scale, it is similar to Sakura no Hanabiratachi with a short story surrounding the PV. This doesn't look as if it was too expensive a PV to make. I would love for H!P's creativity department to take a cue from AKB48 and make a PV like this. They haven't done one like this in a long time!
My favorite part of the song is the chorus, and the traditional Japanese flavor of the bridge early in the song. It is fun, upbeat and very catchy. The CD comes out 3 days before I arrive in Japan, so maybe there will be a signing/handshake event or something while I am there.
One can only hope!
